Get involved with Slow Food DC!
Yesterday afternoon, Slow Food DC held a committee fair -- a chance for those interested in becoming more involved with SFDC either as a board member or committee participant to learn more about what we do -- at MLK library. Photo: Rich and Laura talk about SFDC's IT and social media Existing and potential SFDC members had an opportunity to speak with current board members and chat about ways they might get involved with different committees. For instance, those who came by the Slow Food University table, where I was sitting, not only learned about this Sunday's "Slow U" talk and Indian potluck with cookbook author, Nani Power, but also kicked around ideas for the sorts of free events we'd like to see coming up in 2012 and began brainstorming a list of potential venues and guest speakers. For those of you who may have missed this chance to get involved, fear not. If you would like to nominate yourself for an available 2012 board position please do so here. (Wondering what joining the SFDC board entails? Read the description here.)Nominations will close this Wednesday, 9 Nov at 11:00PM. An online election form will be posted with the results and board elections will be open to all current members through November 30th, so be sure to check the SFDC website and cast your vote.
