Maple, the intimate yet casual Italian-influenced restaurant and wine bar on 11th Street in Columbia Heights, focuses on highlighting quality ingredients with simple preparations. A local favorite, the restaurant was a 2012 recipient of the Snail of Approval Award. They have graciously offered to host an event to benefit our chapter, which relies on events such as this to support the work our all-volunteer board does.
With a strong tradition of using local, seasonal ingredients, Italy’s craft brewers honor this tradition using herbs and even wine in their hand-crafted beers. This event will feature four beers from three breweries:
- Baladin Isaac, spiced Belgian white ale- Birra del Borgo ReAle Extra, IPA- Baladin Nora, Egyptian ale- Birrificio del Ducato La Luna Rossa, wild ale barrel-aged with cherriesThe only thing better than enjoying beer like this on a summer afternoon is enjoying it with some delicious local cheese while learning the finer points of beer tasting. Maple will be showcasing some cheese to pair with these beers, but feel free to stay for dinner after the event ends! Our organization can’t survive without the support of our members. We hope to see you here as you help our chapter offer exciting, affordable events in the future!
